Hi
We just wanted to start this email by saying how grateful we are for you. Thank you for the these Friday discussions, partaking in an open exchange of information, support, and hard work. We're so energized after these calls and hearing about the collaborations and exchanges taking place. THANK YOU for all you're doing on this issue.
Ok, now let's get down to business; and there's a lot of it to get to from Friday's call!
Kate Kheel from Stop5GInternational.org spoke about the "Internet of Oceans" and frankly, it's disturbing. We sent the informative links Kate and Kathy Matara provided in the two emails prior to this call, so we will only be providing additional information from 12/3 today.
If you'd like to get updates and information regarding the Internet of Oceans, please send Patricia Burke an email request at: patricia999burke@gmail.com
*FYI - there is an accompanying flier for this event provided by Sarah Aminoff, however the file was too big to upload so we will send when we have a link!
Next, Odette let us know about an FDA Public advisory committee being formed. There are four openings to fill, and we should make an effort to nominate individuals within our movement.
Here is the summary from the FDA's website: The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is requesting nominations for voting members to serve on the Technical Electronic Product Radiation Safety Standards Committee (TEPRSSC) in the Center for Devices and Radiological Health. Nominations will be accepted for current and upcoming vacancies effective January 1, 2022, with this notice. FDA seeks to include the views of women and men, members of all racial and ethnic groups, and
individuals with and without disabilities on its advisory committees and, therefore, encourages nominations of appropriately qualified candidates from these groups.
This notice was published 11/30/21 and closes 60 days after publication, so we have until January 28th or so to submit, but plan to submit in December.
Odette and Kent Chamberlin discussed forming a nominating committee to streamline this process whereby we collect the names and information of those interested/nominated for these spots and then distribute to the group for all of us to submit these nominations. Those on the call agreed we should nominate at least double the number of spots to increase our chances. A number of organizations have volunteered to be on the nominating committee, if you'd like to be added,
let us know.
Pittsfield City Councilors also voted to ask the Massachusetts Attorney General to investigate the cell tower. Several councilors said they believe that "deceptive practices" were at play when Verizon was allowed to place the cell tower at the edge of the property, nearest to residential properties. Other councilors said they believed that the permit process on the project was flawed from the start.
"I think deceptive practices were being used; that's my opinion," Ward 4 Councilor Chris Connell said. "I hope we send this out and the attorney general does look into it finally."
Also on Friday, December 3rd, Children's Health Defense's Empower Hour with Zen Honeycutt featured Odette Wilkens and Camilla Rees to discuss the plans for 4000 5g antennas proposed for New York City. Following Odette and Camilla's interview, Mary Anne Tierney from Blue Ridge EMF Solutions in North Carolina gave a quick and easy overview on how to hardwire your home!
Debra Greene from Safe Tech Hawaii also provided a “generic” (fill-in-the-blank) Position Statement (in Word) for residents to present to their Home Owners Association (HOA), Community and/or Neighborhood Associations. This is very helpful in getting HOA boards to understand the problem and hopefully not install antennas in a complex, for example.
Debra has given permission for us to pick and choose what elements apply to us and edit the document as we deem necessary, which we've attached.
That's it for now! We will follow up with any additional information/updates if necessary. Hope you have a great week!
Sincerely,
Jenny DeMarco
