Hi , This email may miss some shareable bits of information from our call because we somehow lost our entire draft email that was near completion! However, we will include the info pertinent to the call here and will follow up with any additions/links we may've missed . First, here is the recording of the September 9, 2022 National Call for Safe Technology: https://youtu.be/G4zAgfYYwcs DISCUSSION ITEMS - Erica
Rosenberg's appearance on the National Call was very well received and the feedback was she is very forthcoming with information and has been responsive on follow up emails sent to her following the call. We will definitely be asking Erica to return!
- Industry Tripe:
- Psychology Today article by Joe Pierre: https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/psych-unseen/202208/tin-foil-hats-tired-trope-or-sign-the-times
- Responses by Kent Chamberlin and Magda Havas can be downloaded here: https://virginiansforsafetech.org/psychology-today-responses/
- We discussed the Psychiatric field and EMS, including evaluation methods/codes and what we can do to address the lack of knowledge billable codes, and functional impairment.
- We've attached news from the end of last year on a Swedish Institute for Human Rights (that commenced January 1, 2022). This institute will further protect
protect the human rights for persons with the functional impairment electrohypersensitivity, and also act as a firm counter-balance to the current efforts by some medical doctors to instead medicalize/psyhiatricalize electrohypersensitivity.
- Dr. Dariusz Leszczynski received a grant to survey people
who are diagnosed with EMS (both self and formal diagnosis). Dr. Leszczynski was in the working group of the IARC which classified wireless radiation as a Class 2b Carcinogen. There is a deadline of October 1st -- we will send out link ASAP in separate email highlighting this so it does not get missed.
- One year’s retrospective on the National Call for Safe Technology: Celebrating ONE YEAR of the National Call for Safe Technology! We've an entire year of supporting each other, many great
speakers, and so much helpful information exchanged! See attached agenda with accomplishments, which include nine federal submissions and multiple nominations for federal committees.
SPEAKERS/GUESTS - Jenny DeMarco spoke on how she
discovered (via FOIA in her County) that ONE person in the entire County government signed off on multiple cell phone towers under the Coronavirus Emergency Ordinance. Invoking this ordinance bypassed planning, zoning, architectural review, environmental and community impact reviews, and public comment/notice. Did this happen in your County? Jenny is encouraging everyone to find out via FOIA or by pulling applications on new towers. She is waiting to hear back to see
how many towers were approved via the County Administrator, and will keep us updated as to if any actions are able to reverse this abuse of power.
- Milton Williams used to install "smart" meters for a living in Virginia until he realized how much damage they were doing. Milton is now dedicating his life to educating people on the dangers of "smart" meters (and why we need to link arms and take action on this together!) with his
organization L.O.S.E. - which stands for Life Over Smart Energy. Milton's talk was very compelling, as he brings a unique perspective from the "inside" since he worked for a subcontractor for one of the biggest power companies in the mid-atlantic region.

- Information: 5G networks and services have brought into focus new low-band (700 and 600 MHz), mid-band (2.5 - 4 GHz) and high-band spectrum (above 24 GHz) allocation opportunities, all promising to enable a new era of mobile broadband. However,
bands currently in use for legacy networks (2G through 4G) can also be used, either in parallel with or replacing the older technologies. In the latest Open for Debate webinar, GSMA Intelligence will bring together experts and industry leaders as they explore answers to key questions:
- Why does 5G use the bands currently assigned? What mix of spectrum has been allocated and why?
- What do recent allocations and
market developments tell us about 5G, including the role that spectrum vacated by obsolete networks can play?
- How do operators and other decision makers need to think about spectrum trends, in the context of their present and future business? How does spectrum impact B2B / B2C ambitions?
- How will spectrum evolve beyond 5G? What will likely replace it and what will be the bands of the future?
- Join GSMA Intelligence analysts and special guests, as we look to answer questions (and more) leveraging our own research, our latest work with operators, and insights from the ecosystem.
- Speakers:
- Ankit Sawhney, Research Manager, Mobile Operators & Networks
- Radhika Gupta, Head of Data Acquisition
- Tony Vernon, Lead Analyst, Spectrum and Network Research
- Naisarg Pandya, Solutions Architect (Network R&D), Bharti Airtel
We want to thank you for being here with us for the past year of National Calls for Safe Technology. We are so
grateful to have this network of support and information, and look forward to accomplishing more together! Sincerely, Jenny
