Hi , Here is the follow up email for the April 14th National Call for Safe Technology. First, the recording: https://youtu.be/ul2iOOsGUhc Please see the attached agenda for additional action items and other news not listed in this email. SPEAKERS / GUESTS - Pam Wallace and Serena Arnold
addressed a cell phone tower sited for Starkey School in Odessa Florida and ways we can help them in their fight! (see below) There was a school board meeting last night and we will continue to follow up on this with updates.
- Here is the list of call to action items:
- Sarah Aminoff, Sharon Behn, presented on EMFs in cars.
- A very good discussion took place between and during both Sarah and Sharon's presentation and below are some links that were shared related to the EMF in cars topic:
- Pam Wallace asked you to email her if you have a story of how you've been impacted regarding EMF's or fields in cars, because she is working on this issue with manufacturers: SafeTechForward@gmail.com
- Theodora Scarato with the Environmental Health Trust shared
research on cars here https://ehtrust.org/is-wireless-in-cars-a-health-risk/
- Sidnee Cox gave a link to order G-iron ArmoFlex through Less EMF.com that she uses in her car. If you have a Gaussmeter (AlphaLab,
etc) you can see where the levels are highest so you know where to put the shielding. https://lessemf.com/product/g-iron-armoflex/ You just need to get a tin snips and measure carefully. It works for Magnetic field shielding.
- Irene told us about a
concept called Energy Return on Investment (EROI), which is the return on energy you put in. With an EV, you put more energy in than you get out. And so as a result, it’s just like a thermodynamic rule—it won’t work unless you subsidize it. What’s the reason for EVs? It’s because it supposedly produces less carbon. But through the full life cycle of owning an EV, because so much carbon has to go into the [EV], it doesn’t use less carbon. You’re better off having a gas guzzler. Read more

- She also shared the following resources:
- Sharon spoke about asking for accommodations using Title 3. Someone shared Scott McCollough's explaination of ADA Titles to Lenox, MA in Nov. –– https://youtu.be/JyigiK1DC_I?t=1709
- Sheena Symington let us know about a few companies who are importing and/or selling older cars. Two examples are:
- Paris Marx believes that tech won’t save us. Check out the newest post: “The Transport System Is in Crisis. Electric Cars Won’t Fix It.” https://www.disconnect.blog/p/the-transport-system-is-in-crisis
- Mapping Our Technosphere - Katie Singer’s Newsletter * April 2023 Our Web of Inconvenient Truth w/ Katie has a lot of info on the overall energy usage and other harms of the "renewable energy" and EV's ,etc.
- Electric Vehicle Battery Replacements Cost $5000-$20,000; List Reveals Which Ones
Need Replacing Most https://www.activistpost.com/2023/03/electric-vehicle-battery-replacements-cost-5000-20000-list-reveals-which-ones-need-replacing-most.html
- Magda Havas shared they have a
group of citizen scientists who are documenting exposure to RFR and that one of their upcoming projects is to measure RF in cars. They are currently discussing the technique with Building Biologists and have a monitoring method worked out. They will ultimately post the data on their website, which is globalemf.net. They are still open to
have new volunteers join this global group, and as part of participation, they have a discount for the S&S Pro II meter from Safe Living Technologies. As part of this work they would also like to measure ELF EMFs (especially the magnetic field) but that would involve volunteers purchasing a different meter. This is something they are considering for the near future!
ACTION ITEMS & ADDITIONAL INFO - Theodora
Scarato with the Environmental Health Trust (EHT) shared resources to download and share:
- Children's Health Defense shared their new Action Alert regarding utility meter
choice:
- Sheila Resseger in Rhode Island let us know that the RI Public Utility Commission is still accepting written testimony via email until July 13, 2023 in Docket Number 22-49-EL re: ADVANCED METERING FUNCTIONALITY [AMF] BUSINESS CASE AND COST RECOVERY
PROPOSAL.
- Submit to the Commission Clerk luly.massaro@puc.ri.gov (That is Luly Massaro.) Please request acknowledgement that your written testimony has been received and distributed to the appropriate parties, and forward your testimony to Sheila. She is trying to keep a record of the written testimony that the RI PUC receives on this docket.
- Sheila Resseger's email is 5gfreeri@gmail.com
- Magda Havas shared a number of helpful links to her work on various topics discussed during the call:
- Nancy reminded us about the incandescent ban.
- Please sign and circulate widely: Change.org/saveincandescents
- Here is a letter from the SoftLights Foundation (www.softlights.org)
- The Soft Lights Foundation petitioned the DOE to rescind the 45 lumen/watt rule, but the DOE refuses to make our petition public for fear of the public learning the truth. Our detailed petition is here: (https://www.softlights.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Combined-DOE-Petition.pdf)
The only federal agency with Congressional authority to regulate electromagnetic radiation emitted by electronic devices, including lasers and LEDs, is the Food and Drug Administration. The DOE has no Congressional authority to force LED radiation devices onto the public. The FDA has not yet published the required performance standards that will ensure
the comfort, health, and safety of the public, despite the Congressional mandate to do so. Mark Baker, President Soft Lights
- As of Friday, 1000Bulbs.com still carried 60w incandescent A19 bulbs
- Additional links regarding this: The U.S. Department of Energy on Tuesday said it was raising energy efficiency standards for light bulbs, giving manufacturers 75 days to phase out
incandescents before an outright ban in July 2023. Incandescent bulbs use a higher wattage than LEDs for the same level of brightness. more @ https://www.cbsnews.com/news/incandescent-light-bulb-phase-out-2023-biden-rule/
- From April 27, 2022: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/incandescent-light-bulb-phase-out-2023-biden-rule/
- Sidnee Cox suggested subscribing to the Industry magazine "Inside Towers" which
is free for three months if you want to see inside the industry: https://insidetowers.com/subscription-2/
- Mary also mentioned "Fierce Wireless"
- Somone suggested using the
terminology of "considering our “RFR footprint” especially since the green agenda is being discussed on all levels...It’s even more important than the carbon footprint. Every time anyone uses wireless, they contribute to the RFR Footprint.
- Someone shared the 4/3/2023 White Plains Council meeting regarding their newly adopted ordinances––
http://whiteplainsny.swagit.com/play/04042023-594
- Highlights of the White Plains New York Ordinance
- To the extent technically feasible, small wireless facilities should be located first in industrial districts, secondly in business districts and last in residential
districts

requirements. • Notice of an application for a small wireless facility to the owners of property, if any, located within 500 feet of the proposed small wireless facility.
- Doe Kelly is asking for "people with clout" to write a letter to the Longmont, Colorado officials expressing Why is it a good idea that Longmont, CO has a
moratorium on "smart" meters? She needs letters for Longmont from people with expertise (experts!) requesting/suggesting a moratorium on the smart meters here.
- You can send hard copy to:
- Doe Kelly, 622 Barberry Dr., Longmont, CO 80503 and she will provide emails for Longmont City Government.
- You can also email the following officials as
well:
- "Joan Peck"<joan.peck@longmontcolorado.gov>, MAYOR
CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS "Marcia Martin - LCC"<marcia.martin@longmontcolorado.gov>, "Tim Waters Longmont City Council"<Tim.Waters@longmontcolorado.gov>, "Sean
