Hi , Here is the follow-up email for the May 26th National Call for Safe Technology. First we want to give a big THANK YOU to Sidnee Cox, Lisa Smith, and Nancy VanDover for putting together these National Call minutes! If you'd like to help out with the National Call minutes in the future, please let us know. Here is the Call Recording Link: https://youtu.be/RwUsSVFU4Ro SPEAKERS / GUESTS Doug Wood (Americans for Responsible Technology [ART]). - Doug filled us in on this week’s legal petition filed by ART and other non-profits and individuals with the FDA claiming the
agency s violating its own 1968 statute regarding radiation from wireless devices.
- The petition lays out the FDA's administrative obligations under U.S. Federal law requiring it to perform the following actions:
Plan, conduct, coordinate and/or support research, development, training, and operational activities to minimize the emissions of, and the exposure of people to, unnecessary electronic product radiation. The petition urges the FDA to fully execute, implement, fulfill and carry out their administrative obligations under 21 USC Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act, Subchapter V, Part C Electronic Product Radiation Control, 360 ii.
- The FDA is also required to provide a place to register symptoms of exposure.
- Doug emphasized that these actions are not an option, they are mandatory as set out by Congress. If there is no response, this
will go to court.
- The FDA is flagrantly defying the law. And they’ll keep doing it if no one complains. The agency needs to hear from you now. Today.
- File your comment here. (In the “What’s Your Comment About” dropdown, select “Individual Consumer.”)
Mary Anne Tierney (Building Biologist, Executive Director of SafeTech NC, owner of Blue Ridge EMF Solutions). - Mary Anne spoke about addiction and digital tech, how it affects our limbic system, and how to break the addiction. She asks us to envision a better world/life with reduction of EMFs and less tech use. She spoke about how optimism can help reach our goals of bringing about a more tech safe world and gave us a chart about her vision of an “EMF Optimism Project” with 10 arenas in which
our world can be made more EMF safe.

- Digital Sabbath
- Global Consciousness Project, take a look https://global-mind.org/
- National Geographic: Blue Zones Power 9: Lifestyle Habits of the World’s Healthiest, Longest-Lived People ––
https://www.bluezones.com/2016/11/power-9/
- Places for people with EMS and those working for safe tech to get away from EMFs and gather in celebration (Lisa Smith suggested
Rancho Quieto in Arizona might be a possibility https://emf-experts.news/emf-quiet-zone/ ).
- ACTION: contact https://www.unplugcollaborative.org/our-team. This
group (Kim and Claudia are the leaders) are primarily focusing on damage to eyes/vision now but could expand their campaign to include the other downsides, and could help promote using wired connections with our help.
- Another resource: https://onbeing.org/programs/ayana-elizabeth-johnson-what-if-we-get-this-right/
- Dr. William Rea, who “insisted on limbic system retraining before treatment of EMS”. The Amygdala and Hippocampus (in the brain) are primary components of the limbic system that keep us in a fight/flight mode which is part of susceptibility to EMS. A child’s Hippocampus is 30x’s more sensitive than an adults.
- Other resources for healing the limbic system: Annie Hopper, Dynamic Neural Retraining (DNRS), Daniel Amen, The Gupta Program, Rick Hanson.
Odette Wilkens - Odette and a small group of others were able to meet with NYC’s Office of Technology and Innovation (OTI). Mayor Adams was not
available. They took info and said they would get back to Odette. 5G towers in NYC are under review now for non-compliance with NEPA and the Historic Preservation Act but an eye witness saw tower antennas being installed and confirmed they were activated using an RF meter. Odette has taken the matter to Senator Nadler.
Doe Kelly - Doe Kelly gave an update on the meter situation in Longmont, CO.
- Doe Kelly responded to Mary Ann Tierney’s inquiries for a good location for the 2024 EMF Sensitives’ Summer Camp. Family owned property on the Kentucky River- 500 acres virgin land (some parts very hilly). As far as building a retreat place for EMF Sensitives, a benefactor or group could finance such a project - her
father wanted this 391 or so acres of land to be used for a good cause, ergo the Nature Conservancy.: https://www.sothebysrealty.com/eng/sales/detail/407-l-3032-20010194/1-sugar-creek-pike-nicholasville-ky-40356
Lisa Smith, Safe Tech Tucson - Lisa gave an update on the situation in Arizona, where multiple actions are being taken across the state.
- A moratorium on the permitting of 5G cell towers was voted on by the Fountain Hills Town Council.
- A well-attended conference in Prescott, “Tower, Emissions, Antennas: Oh My”, has helped raise awareness across the
state.
- In June there will be a “Stop 5G in Show Low” gathering with Dr. Benjamin Benulis to learn the facts about 5G and talk about initiating change at the local level.
- Finally, in the Tucson area:
- 1) Over 520 Affidavits of maladministration in the deployment of 5G cell towers in Tucson have been served to the Mayor and City
Council. These Affidavits of harm to Tucson residents have gone unrebutted and people are showing up to give public comments about this situation; and
- 2) a group of residents in Pima County who were protesting an inappropriately-placed cell tower have started a fundraiser to hire
Andrew Campanelli to write an updated, more protective telecommunications ordinance that, once adopted, will serve as an example to the rest of the state. Pay pal Link to fundraiser: https://www.paypal.com/pools/c/8TUhCIkGRM
ACTIONS - Contribute to the fundraiser to hire Andrew Campanelli to write a protective telecommunications ordinance for Pima County, AZ! Even small amounts help and show the great amount of support from within AZ and across the country for this effort.
Safe Tech Tucson 130 E. EVENTS/UPDATES/NEWS - Excellent resource posted in chat: (2019) Bevington M. Journal of Environment and Health Science. Vol 5:1,
01-12. https://mdsafetech.files.wordpress.com/2019/10/2018-prevalence-of-electromagnetic-sensitivity.pdf “The Prevalence of People with Restricted Access to Work in Manmade Electromagnetic Environments.” Based on Bevington’s results, percentages for a U.S.
population of 332.4 million people, the numbers are staggering. Number of U.S. EMF Sensitive/Disabled –– Mild symptoms 30% –– 99.7 million.
- David Gee, Visiting Fellow, Centre for Pollution Research and Policy, Brunel University, London and Dr Erica Mallery-Blythe
https://phiremedical.org/ (Physicians Health Initiative for Radiation and Environment) have organized this event to publicize the ground breaking work of Professor Kent Chamberlain.

- Letter From Mark Baker RE: the Department of Energy rule banning incandescent light
bulbs:
The Department of Energy has published a rule that effectively bans incandescents and forces LED light bulbs by making two outrageous and provably false claims: 1) LED light has the same characteristics as incandescent light. 2) LED visible radiation is safe and causes no adverse health
impacts. LEDs emit a directed energy beam of visible radiation that has little dispersion over distance. The disjointed spectral power distribution often contains hazardous blue wavelength light, and the electronics create dangerous square wave flicker. LED products are a human health hazard and the DOE has
kept this information hidden from the public. The Soft Lights Foundation petitioned the DOE to rescind the 45 lumen/watt rule, but the DOE refuses to make our petition public for fear of the public learning the truth. Our detailed petition is here: (https://www.softlights.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Combined-DOE-Petition.pdf) [Note, in cooperation with Softlights,
Friends of Merrymeeting Bay filed comments in this matter including the Softlights petition and comments were accepted]. The only federal agency with Congressional authority to regulate electromagnetic radiation emitted by electronic devices, including lasers and LEDs, is the Food and Drug Administration. The DOE has no Congressional authority to
force LED radiation devices onto the public. The FDA has not yet published the required performance standards that will ensure the comfort, health, and safety of the public, despite the Congressional mandate to do so. Performance standards would include restrictions on peak luminance, dispersion characteristics, spectral power distribution, and square wave flicker. The Soft Lights Foundation petitioned the FDA to regulate LED products on June 12, 2022
(https://www.regulations.gov/document/FDA-2022-P-1151-0001). The FDA, however, is not acting on our petition and sent us this letter: (https://www.softlights.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/2023-917-reply_edited.pdf) You may contact Jeffrey Shuren, Director of the FDA CDRH (jeff.shuren@fda.hhs.gov) for details on the hazards of LED visible radiation and lack of regulation. LED light bulbs are unvetted, unregulated, unapproved, and hazardous to human health. Companies have no legal authority to manufacture or sell LED products, and the DOE has no Congressional authorization to force LED products onto the public Sincerely, Mark Baker President Soft Lights Foundation www.softlights.org mbaker@softlights.org Sincerely, Jenny DeMarco Virginians for Safe
