As we mentioned on our last call, our last meeting for 2023 was on Friday, December 15th. Regarding our committees, including the Federal Bills Committee and EMS Committee, we will resume in the first week of January.
For next year, we will try out having our national meetings
every second and fourth Friday of each month. As we start this new schedule, let us know how it’s working out.
An exception to this is the first week in January, where we’re going to have an extra meeting on Friday, December 7, 1-3pm ET / 10-12 PT. It will focus on two topics with time-sensitive priorities: (1) comments to your respective state offices on how the BEAD money should be spent in your state
(deadlines are coming up for each state, some have already passed) and (2) the federal bills now being fast-tracked through Congress.
For #1, Odette will discuss the conditions precedent that were included in our NTIA submission last year of the conditions that telecoms must meet before they are eligible for any BEAD funds being given to the states.
For #2, be ready to talk
about who your federal Reps and Senators are, and getting in touch with them to set up a meeting on the federal bills. If you have already met with them, then plan a follow up meeting to find out how they plan to vote on the bills. We are available to help with those meetings.
Until we meet again next year, we want to wish you a wonderful holiday and New Year! Let’s make next year the turning point in our
campaign.
With much appreciation for all that you do!
