As many of you know, in December, after a year of work gathering comments from across the globe, the OneName Project reached the end of its one-name quest...and "entered a new era of advocacy defined by respect, empowerment, and unity of message". Based on the input from far and wide, one singular name for
EMF-related illness has been chosen:
Formal Name: Electromagnetic Radiation Syndrome
Common Name: EMR Syndrome
Acronym: EMR-S
This name squarely identifies the source of the problem (not the "sensitive" people, but the radiation), is respectful to those
suffering from it, and will enable proper education of the public and lawmakers.
Let's start using this name ASAP!
At the last National Call, Ruth Moss let us know that committee members are now working on a new website and EMF Syndrome accommodation recommendations.
For those who missed it, attached is the formal announcement of the new name and a list of the
members of the OneName project Decision Making Committee.
