Hi ,
Our colleague Susie Molloy of Snowflake, AZ sends us a message about an upcoming webinar on global accessibility laws and how we can participate to ensure the needs of people with Electromagnetic Radiation Syndrome (EMR-S) are raised. See her message below...
From Susie Molloy:
Dear Colleagues,
What laws or policies of various countries support access, for people with EMR-S, to Communications Technology? A national program Tuesday, Sept. 16 is advertised as an exploration of international progress, in the Communications Tech field, for people with disabilities.
If the presenting entities'
historic records are any indication there will be no mention of our urgent needs despite our years of lobbying, education, and submission of ample documentation. The sponsors include the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research ("NIDLRR"), the Administration for Community Living ("ACL"), the United States Access Board, and the hosts, the Great Lakes ADA Center, based in Chicago.
We can remind them that several other countries support access to Communications Technology for people disabled by EMR-S.
Countries we can mention include France and Israel - which others?
The phone for the host, Great Lakes ADA Center: 877-232-1990
Or see: Great Lakes ADA Center's webinar website
to register for the program or to submit your questions / comments in advance. People who do not use computers can participate in the presentation by telephone.
Thank you for sharing your expertise.
Susie Molloy
