 Infamous footballers, the 49ers, may be EMR-Syndrome victims

Health coach, Peter Cowan broke the internet this month by echoing the concerns of players in a notoriously injured CA football team. Since the team's 2014 move to Levi’s Stadium, the 49ers  have consistently ranked high in adjusted games lost (AGL) because of injuries to starters and key players. They are also scoring more tendon ruptures than the league average. Some players have wondered if the reason is staring them in the face during practice. Can it be the electrical substation next to their field? Cowan, a recovering EMR-Syndrome patient and friend of the National Call, believes them and has been making the rounds of sports shows, arguing with sports doctors on X and explaining the link between electromagnetic fields and sports injuries. He's also been writing a blog series dedicated to explaining the various ways in which the 49ers might be getting hurt. Meanwhile, team managers are silent.

CA A Dec. court settlement litigated by Children's Health Defense says  Los Angeles County must ensure towers and antennae meet strict fire risk safety standards and that residents are given a two-week notice to comment before they approve a new tower. CHD and other plaintiffs didn’t get all they wanted, but it was  “overall a success.”

A newly published academic report has suggested that chronic exposure to electromagnetic radiation (EMR) from electrical grids and wireless technologies may be contributing to the global rise in diabetes, sparking renewed debate over existing safety standards. A chapter in the book is by Dr. Paul Heroux.

Advocacy

 MA Citizens of Pittsfield, MA and medical supporters  spoke to the MA Joint Committee on the Judiciary in Nov. Pittsfield has a recognized population of cell tower injured.  Amelia Coco Gilardi, 17, spoke in favor of S.1175, a bill requiring atypical vendors (like online ones) and all public premises, to provide equal access to EMR Syndrome sufferers, already a recognized disability category.

The National Call's comments on  Ham radio & satellite laws

The National Call submitted comments to the subcommittee on Communications and Technology about HR 1094 (see submission #20 12-16-25 on thenationalcall.org), which seeks to federalize what was local control of amateur radios and antennae up to 43 ft. high. This proposal dovetails with the objectives of HR 2289 and rule 25-276, which propose to take away all permitting discretion from local authorities. Both of these pieces of spectrum legislation had been previously introduced on their own and failed. NC4ST pointed out that they passed only thanks to their inclusion in larger, “must-pass” bills, leaving no opportunity for amendments to this legislation. The National League of Cities (NLC), the United States Conference of Mayors, the National Association of Counties, and the National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors have all formally opposed H.R. 2289.

Ohio transformer triggers smart meter fires 

Several west Cleveland residents found out the hard way about the dangers of combining Wi-Fi, gas and a power network. On Jan 12 an unexplained transformer fire lit up the night sending 11,000 bolts along power lines and exploding several smart meters off homes and charring fuseboxes, said neighbors. The explosion caused a gas fire in a home's basement. “I mean, it indicates a dangerous situation. I think, for us," said Lt. Mike Norman of the Cleveland Division of Fire. "I talked to the battalion chief this morning.   We're both surprised that we didn't have more house fires, actually. With the damage that was done to those electrical meters, a lot of times that can lead to house fires.”

RFK Talks Safe Tech Accomplishments 

 Secretary of Health and Human Services, John F. Kennedy Jr., made the rounds, doing interviews and touting his work on Safe Technology this past month. He noted that thanks to his influence 22 states have banned cell phones from schools, and US govt. websites have been updated to reflect some of the concerns of advocates, including The National Call. He also noted that his agency has launched a new study of cell phone radiation according to Andrew Nixon, HHS speaker. Environmental Health Trust called the study a good step.

Communities Grapple with Solar Panels   

 In recent years, towns have grappled with the health challenges of solar "farms", but ignored electrosmog. When Needville and Scottsbluff 's solar arrays were hit by hail, it highlighted potential toxic leaching from panels into land and water tables. Govts. try to safely retire millions of acres of panels every decade and to contain cancerous plumes from accidental fires, but disregard current conditions. Noise pollution is also discussed as the solar panels make a buzzing noise. Yet, USDA conservation is mum on  electrosmog around panels, smart meters and storage containers. Proponents say solar inverters, which make dirty electricity, can be mitigated with filtering, but continue to ignore biological research on energy fields. As of Dec. 2025 there's no fed. or local EMR regulations, says USDA. Food from mixed use farms, that also includes solar panels, is unregulated.

How Solar Panels Nearby are Adding Electrosmog to Your  Home and Your Neighbors

A solar array's inverter will add frequencies and electromagnetic interference to nearby buildings. A 2025 study shows property values within a mile of solar projects are taking a hit. As solar becomes more popular, it becomes necessary to use filtering technology and deal with inverters, which can raise a home from a typical 100 mV to 1500 mV. Personal distance from such devices is essential, particularly in small homes or vehicles. Microinverters help spread out the EMF. Additionally, other shielding technology can be helpful. Yet, distance-- distance is key. 

LOCAL GOVERNMENTS, COURTS & THE LAW

 FL Wearing festive holiday gear, St. John's County  residents turned out to fight a 170 ft. tower near the Augustine Shores subdivision. Residents cited studies suggesting cell towers near homes can depress property values. The panel ultimately sided with residents, eliciting applause from the crowd.“This is not compatible with the residential character of the area,” said planning and zoning member Hilsenbeck. Another group near Hughes Cemetery is still opposing a tower.

MI Residents of Avalon Lakes tuned into Facebook to discuss a cell tower notice dated December 19 alerting them to the construction of a Verizon cell tower with 300 feet of their properties. Skeptical of health issues, many members focused mostly on home values. However, everyone decided to tune in to the January 21 planning meeting.

NJ In Hillsdale, over the objections of about 20 residents — including a nearby River Vale homeowner — the Borough Council on Dec. 9 approved a contract for a 150-foot cellular tower at Stonybrook Swim Club. The council added new conditions for approval however, based on feedback at the meeting which aired objections including alleged health impacts from radiofrequency waves, a lack of town-wide emergency-service coverage, and possible declines in property values for nearby homes.

NY Despite acknowledging connectivity problems, residents of Mount Kisko refused Homeland Tower plans to build a new tower in their city. The Town Board held a hearing Dec. 16 on wetland, tree and stormwater permits the controversial monopole on town-owned land. Yorktown resident Monica Cole asked the board how the town would compensate residents affected by the cell tower. “Will they pay for any healthcare bills that may present you to someone getting sick from living near this tower?”

Why Do You Need Blue Blocking Glasses?

What do blue blocking glasses do? What are some good blue-blocking glasses? Blue light has a shorter wavelength with higher energy: 400–500 nanometers that can affect the retina, the back wall inside the eye that sense light and send signals to the brain so you can see.

LED and compact fluorescent lamps also give off blue light. LEDs are used for the backlighting of most digital screens. This causes sleep issues by shifting your circadian rhythm. Since 2008, research into blue-blocking or filtering products, such as blue-blocking glasses, screen filters, glass filters has increased. These products decrease the transmission of ultraviolet light involving wavelengths between 440 and 500 nanometers. Some digital devices now offer blue light-filtering settings that reduce the transmission of short wavelengths of light, but glasses are your general defense.
