Hi
,
Over the last four years the National Call has been working to promote secure and safer wired alternatives and protect local authority over cell tower placement. We’ve been supporting safe tech groups across the country in their local and state efforts. Importantly, we have been meeting with U.S. House and Senate legislative offices to shift the national policy
conversation toward safer technology.
To take these efforts to a new level, we have now formed The National Call for Safe Technology, Inc., a 501(c)(4) nonprofit corporation. We have a new Board, who we will be introducing you to soon, and a slate of advisors and officers. We will be growing our outreach efforts and revamping the National Call website.
In the coming year, we’ll be expanding our efforts to reach more Federal legislators and their staff. This will require subscribing to a CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system to help manage our work with legislative offices, making us more effective. This is more important than ever. HR 2289, telecom's wish list to take away
all local control and ditch environmental review, is now being fast tracked into a must-pass Appropriations bill. It consolidates about 21 telecom bills. We need to act quickly to withdraw HR 2289 from that bill. The CRM will help us, but it will cost $40,000 for two years.
To support our expanded efforts, we are asking that you please give generously to the new National Call for Safe Technology, Inc.
