Progress in MA smart meter opt-out! Citizens & leaders of Lee, MA step up
Published: Fri, 02/20/26
Hi ,
Citizens of the town of Lee, Massachusetts who recently received smart meter installation letters from the electric utility Eversource shared the serious risks with their Town Administrator and their Select Board. Municipal leaders listened and investigated the risks vs. benefits. They then sent a letter to the MA legislature urging it to pass H.3551 An Act relative to smart meters, which would mandate a no-fee opt out of wireless smart meters so people aren’t financially penalized for choosing to protect themselves from harmful smart meter radiation.
Below, our friend Cece
Doucette of MA for Safe Tech thanks Lee leaders and all who helped educate them. She gives a link to a recording of the town Select Board meeting on February 3rd, where citizens gave public comments and the Board discussed smart meter issues. She also invites us all to a free public webinar “Is Your Utility Smart Meter Harmful?” on February 25th, 2026 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm ET.
Congratulations on this success citizens of Lee and MA for Safe
Tech!

Thank you for inviting me in to help educate.
Thank you to the municipal leaders for listening and investigating the risks vs. benefits, and not being satisfied by what industry is telling them.

There is no cavalry coming to protect you from smart meter radiation, fires or
rate increases.
