In preparation for tomorrow’s hearing at the Committee on Technology, we are meeting today to discuss the areas of importance we would like to make sure that we
cover during the hearing. Our goal is also to have a good cross-section of the city represented at the hearing.
Rally:
Rally will be held at 11am on the steps of City
Hall with many elected officials:
- Rep. Jerrold Nadler
- Manhattan BP Mark Levine
- City Council members: Gale Brewer, Christopher Marte, Keith Powers, Julie Menin, Carmen de la Rosa
Please come to the rally. It’s important to show that there’s a groundswell on this issue.
Testimony:
You can give testimony either in person or by Zoom.
Registration is at: council.nyc.gov/testify. Select: Committee on Technology.
We will only have 2 mins each to speak, so our presentations would best be prepared in advance to be thoughtful and crisp.
You can also submit a written statement, which we encourage everyone to do since there doesn’t appear to be any limit on how long your written statement can be. So whatever you don’t have time to articulate during your 2 minute testimony, you can expand on in your written statement.
Pointers:
Here are some things to keep in mind:
- If you are giving testimony in person, bring six extra copies to distribute to Committee members
- The hearing will be on the 2nd floor at
City Hall
- Bring a mask, in case required (we’ve heard it’s optional)
- There’s a Covid questionnaire to fill out at the entrance, so make sure you’re at the entrance by 12:30pm so that you can get into the hearing in time.
