Hello Everyone,
Here’s the registration link for Tuesday’s meeting on June 13th, 2-3:30pm

Thank you for testifying at the Committee on Technology. There was a huge turnout in opposition, and the hearing lasted six hours, from about 1:15pm to about 7:15pm. Many also followed up with written testimony, including those who could not make it in person.

We will be reviewing the meeting and the results we are looking to achieve with the Committee. If you submitted written testimony, I am collecting the
testimony to put in a central repository for our reference. I understand that it is otherwise difficult to find the written testimony on the NYC portal.
NYS Listening Session, Wed, June 14, 3-7:30pm
Sign-up: https://broadband.ny.gov/listening-sessions-and-internet-access-survey
We have another opportunity to be heard, this time by NYS.
There will be a listening session sponsored by NYS ConnectAll, OTI and Silicon Harlem. It will be in-person and virtual. If going in person, the address is 645 St. Nicholas Ave. It’s important that NYS hear about the problems associated with Link5G towers. It’s definitely more effective to be there in person, and to connect with others.
Clayton Banks, founder of Silicon Harlem, can give us more information at the meeting.
Questions:
- What is NYS looking for in this forum?
- Format: brief presentations or questions?
- If brief presentations, what is the time limit?
- Who will be the panel listening to New Yorkers?
- What will NYS do with the information?
In preparation for the listening session, as in the hearing we just had with the Committee on Technology, it would be important to make our points.
- Goal: represent a cross-section of NYC
- In your presentations or questions – state:
- Who you are: resident for ? years / senior citizen
- Your location and community board district
- If your CB has disapproved or requested a
moratorium
- The main issues of importance
- The ask?
- Moratorium on all construction
- Deactivation of all 5G
towers
- Hold hearings on:
- health impacts of 5G (no prohibition on holding hearings)
- fiber/wired tech to bridge digital divide
- maintaining telecommunications infrastructure underground
- municipal broadband for better/lower cost services
- a more sustainable wireless infrastructure
Attached are suggested talking
points. They’ve been slightly revised and added to.
